Along with the strawberries and cream version, this Arnott’s Tim Tam Crafted Collection Murray River Salted Caramel piqued our own interest.
Each biscuit is 7 x 3 x 1.5 cm and composed of milk chocolate enrobing two malt biscuits that sandwich two strips of caramel flavoured buttercream with a centre strip of chewy caramel sauce.
The combination of chocolate, malt and caramel is a sure combination that works well here. On biting through the milk chocolate gave a creamy sweetness that’s swiftly restrained by the barely sweetened malt biscuits. Mid-bite, the sweetness builds again as the caramel buttercream melts, but the gooey caramel centre delivered a chewy and very prominent saltiness that helps the Tim Tam avoid its usual cloying sweetness.
