Nespresso Master Origin Indonesia

This is the Nespresso Master Origin Indonesia. It’s an Arabica from humid Sumatra, Indonesia, and uses a wet-hulling method that involves removing the parchment when the coffee was soft and moist to allow the exposed beans to dry faster.

The coffee is split roast with a medium and slightly shorter roast. It has an intensity of 8 out of 13 and comes in a blue capsule printed with the name of the coffee.

The espresso was a dark black-brown colour with a deep roasted aroma. Prepared as a long black with a 1:1 water to espresso ratio, the coffee had a smooth initial hint of acidity. Woody notes develop in the body with a thicker and richer mouthfeel ahead of prominent roasted notes in the finish with an accompanying moderate bitterness that lingered briefly. Being fans of coffee from Indonesia, this coffee does not disappoint, being enjoyable on its own for its balanced intensity and bold roasted flavour.

This Nespresso Indonesia contained 10 x 5.7 g capsules. It was produced in Switzerland and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2020.
