This is the Arnott’s Tim Tam Crafted Collection Murray River Salted Double Choc. It is made from ‘pure salt flakes from the pristine mineral waters of the Murray Darling River Basin’.
Each biscuit is 7 x 3 x 1.5 cm, with the salt flakes mixed through a chocolate sauce and cocoa chocolate cream, before being sandwiched between two chocolate biscuits and covered in milk chocolate.
The Tim Tam has a rich chocolatey aroma, while biting through, the sweetness from the milk chocolate came through before crunching through the biscuits reveal a smooth cocoa chocolate cream with a gentle savoury note. On reaching the centre, the gooey chocolate sauce surprises us with the shift to a richer, stickier texture that delivered a bolder savoury quality that developed to an enjoyable intensity into the finish, cutting through the initial sweetness. This is a well-executed classic flavour.
