N once related her experience with a pizza-flavoured Pretz from Japan that had an overwhelming funky cheese flavour. Now, many years later, this is the extra crispy version: Glico Pretz Chou Kari Kari Crispy Pizza.
Each bag contained two foil bags with cream-coloured print.
Each bag contained 50 pretzels, which were about a quarter of the thickness of a typical Pretz and dusted in pale yellow and green coloured seasoning flavoured with basil, tomato and parmesan.
These Pretz had a truly pungent aroma of parmesan that filled the room as soon as the packaging was opened. Upon tasting, though, the initial pungency translated to the savoury nuttiness of parmesan while a gentle tanginess from the tomato added to the rich umami flavour, along with the classic pairing of basil. The thinner format of these Pretz made them audibly crispy and all the more addictive. The overall flavour was bold yet enjoyable once we got past the funky aroma.
This Glico Pretz Kari Kari Crispy Pizza contained 55 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2021.
