This KitKat Inspired by Byron Bay Cookies Triple Choc Cookie was part of Nestlé’s first KitKat collaboration in Australia with Byron Bay Cookies.
Each block contained 11 wafers, topped with a chocolate cookie crumb (1%) and covered in milk chocolate.
These KitKat had a sweet chocolate aroma. Upon tasting, the triple choc aspect came from first, the milk chocolate enrobing each finger; second, the chocolate cookie pieces within the milk chocolate; and third, the milk chocolate cream sandwiching the wafers. Enjoyably, the onslaught of chocolate did not overwhelm, but rather came together for a richly textured chocolate experience, from the crisp break of the enrobing chocolate, the crunch of the cookie pieces, and the creamy smoothness of the cream sandwiching the wafers.
As with the milk choc chunk cookie version, the wafers brought welcome relief from the sweetness of the chocolate with the overall effect of the chocolate fingers successfully capturing the richness of the chocolate flavour in the original Byron Bay cookies.
