This is the Really Good Coffee Specialty Coffee with Milk St Ali Original. It blends the ‘finest Riverina Fresh Australian milk with coffee with from [St Ali], the pioneer of specialty coffee in Australia’. It’s a strong coffee, with a strength of 2.5 out of 3, and made using coffee beans from Brazil and Colombia.
The coffee was an opaque tan colour with an aroma more reminiscent of instant coffee than the rich roasted notes of fresh espresso. Served chilled, the coffee had a viscous — much like heavy cream — consistency, with milky tones coming through at the head of each sip before a mellow roasted coffee flavour came through in the body ahead of a gentle acidity in the aftertaste and a minor astringency and bitterness lingering in the aftertaste.
The coffee was highly caffeinated and enjoyable as a quick ready-to-drink coffee, but the flavour and price ($4.10) were not something preferred over a fresh barista coffee or Nespresso capsule.
