This is the CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice Lychee Yakult ($8.80, fixed size, less ice, normal sweetness). The drink was an opaque beige colour with a green tea base, topped with 2 x 65 mL bottles of Yakult, chopped lychees, and a slice of lemon.
Served chilled, the original Yakult flavour was very much subdued, so the beverage did not have the intense flavour of yoghurt-flavoured drinks like Calpis. The combination of the Yakult with the green tea gave the mouthfeel and taste of a thin milk tea made, while the green tea also left a slight astringency lingering on the palate. That said, it did retain Yakult’s signature sweetness and acidity, which were heightened by the lychees and the slice of lemon. However, the drink relied solely on canned lychees — which were generous and brought an enjoyable texture — to bring the lychee flavour but did not infuse the drink.
