This is Ken-chan Curry, a Sydney-established chain specialising in Japanese-style curry, now expanding internationally, including into Tōkyō.

Chicken Katsu Curry ($12.90, regular)
The curry had a pleasing depth, with a thick, gently spiced base complemented by a distinct floral honey note that added sweetness without overwhelming the profile. The rice was well-cooked short grain, though the portion of curry felt insufficient for balanced pairing. The katsu offered a fully crisp exterior, though the interior lacked the juiciness expected of a good cutlet. The pickled daikon provided a welcome sweet–tart lift against the richness.

Omlette Karaage Curry ($20.90, regular)
The omelette was silky and integrated smoothly with both rice and curry. The karaage, however, while crisp, was notably dry and verged on chewy rather than delivering the characteristic tenderness of thigh meat. The curry matched the flavour and texture of the first dish, and the added egg helped extend the sauce so that the ratio to rice was more balanced.
Overall, the curry itself was flavourful and consistent, the omelette component was well executed, and the miso soup was serviceable. The protein quality varied, with the katsu faring better than the karaage, which felt both overpriced and poorly handled.
