This is the Riska Sakutto Shittori Ichigō, a corn puff snack coated in strawberry-flavoured white chocolate cream.
Each puff was either heart-shaped or circular, around 3 cm in diameter and 1 cm in height and sweet strawberry aroma. Upon tasting, the corn puff gave an audible crunch with a light airiness and mild corn taste. The corn notes dissipated swiftly, though, as the strawberry cream melted on the palate to deliver a creamy sweetness that was swiftly restrained by an enjoyable acidity that recalled the fresh fruit. The gentle crunch persisted through to the end of the bite, with the bright strawberry flavour lingering pleasantly in the finish.
Overall, the flavour recalled the Glico Pocky Tsubu Tsubu Strawberry where the cream contained freeze-dried strawberries, but the corn puff base of this snack had a more addictive texture than the pretzel biscuit of Pocky.
