The Hanami Prawn Crackers didn’t quite hit the spot, so we gave these Nongshim Shrimp Cracker a go to satisfy the craving. They contain 20% rice flour and 7.8% raw shrimp.
These crackers were about 4-5 x 0.7 x 0.5 cm, dusted in a green and light orange seasoning, and with the mellow aroma of shrimp dipped in mayonnaise. Upon tasting, the cracker was light with an airy crispness, with the gentle spice and sweet acidity of wasabi mayonnaise giving an enjoyable initial ‘zing’ before the more savoury aromatic shrimp flavour came through in the body as the cracker was munched. The clean aftertaste of these crackers kept us coming back for the next hit of aromatic shrimp and sour mayonnaise wasabi.
Overall, the lightness and unique flavour of the crackers were perfect and miles ahead of the Hanami Prawn Crackers which were dense and pungent.
