Kettle Chip Company released their Native Flavour Collection in 2022 to ‘honour the unique and tasty ingredients that we find in our own plentiful land — from the top end to the apple isle and the great plains in between’. This is the Finger Lime & Tasmanian Pepper Leaf flavour.
The chips were a golden yellow colour and dusted in specks of dark green with a zesty lime aroma. Upon tasting, the finger lime notes were immediate and develop with bold, salivating intensity as the freeze-dried powder rehydrated on the palate. The pepper notes came through in the background with an enjoyable earthy, peppery flavour that was a touch more complex than the usual black pepper, which was also an ingredient here. Compared to the lime and black pepper flavour in the original line, this version had much stronger lime notes and more nuanced pepper notes.
