Each crisp had a thickness of approximately 1 cm and emitted an aroma reminiscent of mango-flavored black tea—fruity, yet not evoking its characteristic sweetness. Upon tasting, these crisps delivered a resounding crunch with each bite, promptly transitioning to a texture resembling mango paste. This transformation retained a comparable degree of sweetness and acidity to that of the fresh fruit, avoiding any indication of the fibrous quality often associated with conventional dried mangoes. Unlike freeze-dried raspberries, which typically exude a tangy acidity, the mango’s flavour intensity was harmoniously calibrated, mirroring the profile of the fresh mango. In conclusion, we found these freeze-dried mango crisps to be a compelling option for their distinctive crispness, offering a departure from the typical chewiness associated with dried mangoes. Consequently, we are inclined to consider repurchasing this product.
