Shizuoka Prefecture is one of the biggest citrus producers in Japan. This is the Nippon Yell Gummy Shizuoka Ruby Grapefruit. These gummies were made with the juice of ruby grapefruit from Shizuoka Prefecture.
Each gummy displayed an opaque red-pink hue, measuring approximately 2 cm in diameter and 1 cm in height. Its fragrance was that of sweet grapefruit. Upon tasting, the faint sugar coating on the surface offered a delicate crispness, followed by the gummy’s bouncy, elastic texture, which then yielded to a jelly-like centre without bounce. The jelly-like centre encapsulated the pink grapefruit’s sweetness, followed by the more robust gummy that, when chewed, unveiled the fruit’s mouth-watering acidity. This gummy aptly embodied the flavour of pink grapefruit, accentuating its naturally invigorating sweetness, mild acidity, and subtle bitterness.
This Nippon Yell Gummy Shizuoka Ruby Grapefruit contained 40 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2023.
