Orihiro Purunto Konnyaku Jelly Feng Shui Nashi

This is the Orihiro Purunto Konnyaku Jelly Feng Shui Nashi. They featured another flavour named ‘nashi’ in 2018, so we weren’t sure if this was the same flavour under a different name. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the previous version sufficiently to want to try it again.

The jellies were made with konjac powder from Gunma Prefecture in Japan and came in the same plastic envelopes about 5 x 4 cm in size.

The jelly displayed transparency and lacked colour, emitting a noticeable fragrance reminiscent of nashi pear. When tasted, the jelly encapsulated the refreshing and crisp sweetness characteristic of ripe nashi pear. As the taste experience progressed, the fruit’s understated acidity and delicate floral undertones became more pronounced. The flavour remained faithful to the authentic fruit, and in conjunction with its resilient konjac texture, resulted in a pleasing jelly that we would certainly consider acquiring again.

This Orihiro Purunto Konnyaku Jelly Feng Shui Nashi contained 120 g (20 x 6 g) pieces. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Tōkyō, Japan in 2023.
