This is the Nissin Foods Cup Noodles Big Extra Spicy Tonkotsu.
Each cup held a dried noodle cake accompanied by dehydrated vegetables (baby bok choy, green onion, carrot), as well as dehydrated pork (notably listing chicken as an ingredient), dehydrated egg, dehydrated wood fungus, and dehydrated chilli.
Upon opening the package, the noodles emitted a savoury scent of onion and garlic. After rehydrating them with boiling water up to the designated line inside the cup for 3 minutes, the soup base took on an opaque tan hue with a slight viscosity that coated the noodles, which were al dente without elasticity. The soup base, however, proved excessively spicy, delivering an immediate and intense heat to the back of the throat that escalated into a fiery burn, overpowering any discernible flavor, including that of a pork bone broth. The dehydrated pork bits added texture and subtle flavour when eaten separately, while the rehydrated egg had an unpleasant mushy texture. Predictably, these noodles did not warrant a repurchase.
