This is the Asahi Bireley’s Orange. It contained 20% orange juice.
Bireley’s was initially created by the Frank W. Bireley Company in California in 1923. Over time, the brand gained widespread recognition across the United States before eventually disappearing from its home market. Today, it maintains its presence solely through Asahi Soft Drinks in Japan, which first began selling the product to the domestic market in 1951.

The beverage had an opaque, light orange hue and emitted a gentle, sweet orange aroma. When enjoyed chilled, it delivered a refreshing sweetness reminiscent of pulp-free orange juice, followed by lively orange notes that brought forth a moderate tartness without any bitterness midway through the sip. It concluded with a clean aftertaste following a brief lingering of the orange flavours.
Overall, it had a smooth texture and well-balanced acidity, offering a slightly richer orange flavour compared to Suntory Orangina Airy, which, with its mild carbonation, leaned towards being more refreshing. While enjoyable, considering the abundance of orange juice options available, repurchasing may not be a priority.
This Asahi Bireley’s Orange contained 470 mL. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2024.
