This is the Kirin Gogo no Kōcha Tea Selection The Milk Tea English Blend. It used 1.5 times more tea leaves than their regular Milk Tea, comprising a black tea blend of 51% Uva and 47% Assam leaves.
The beverage had an opaque deep brown hue, about 1.5 times darker than the original Milk Tea, resembling chocolate-flavoured milk. Its aroma was similarly fragrant. When consumed chilled, the aromatic blend of tea leaves was immediately evident, accompanied by an initial mellow sweetness that developed into a caramel or malt-like depth from the black tea. The milk flavour was subtle and integrated, while a notable astringency lingered in the aftertaste. Despite the higher concentration of tea leaves, there was no added bitterness; instead, it balanced the original’s somewhat overwhelming sweetness. We thoroughly enjoyed this English Blend for its richer tea flavour and balanced sweetness.
