This is the YBC Levain Prime Cracker Cream Sando Mini Mango Pudding, made with 2% mango juice.
Each pack contained 12 sandwich crackers, each 0.9 cm thick, with two golden yellow-orange crackers encasing a similarly coloured cream filling that made up about a third of the total height. Upon opening, a soft mango aroma was immediately noticeable.
The first bite delivered a crisp crunch from the savoury cracker, which had a similar flavour profile to Jatz or Ritz but without any inherent sweetness. This gave way to the soft cream filling, which melted on the palate, releasing a fresh mango pudding flavour. The taste closely resembled a pudding made with ripe Kensington Pride mangoes, offering a bright tropical sweetness balanced by a touch of acidity from the fruit. A creamy mouthfeel reminiscent of the evaporated milk commonly used in mango pudding rounded out the experience.
The contrast between the crunchy, savoury biscuit and the smooth, creamy filling was particularly well-executed, with the biscuit melting on the palate by the finish, leaving a lingering savoury note. The balance of textures and flavours made each bite satisfying and moreish.
