Pang Po Po, Eastwood

On a mission to find our favourite yóutiáo in Eastwood, we sampled the version from Pang Po Po.

Yóutiáo ($5.00 for 2)
The yóutiáo featured a crisp exterior with a light, airy interior and a balanced, lightly salted yeasted flavour. It was not overly dense, but notably oily—best suited to reheating in an air fryer to restore crispness and reduce excess oil. To their credit, the vendor double-bagged the order to manage this. The texture and flavour were more enjoyable than the version from Pancake King, which was too dense and chewy, though perhaps not as well-balanced as the rendition from Jun’s Noodle & Bun.

Overall, a well-executed and flavourful yóutiáo, though slightly marred by its oiliness.

Pang Po Po is located at 6-8 Progress Ave, Eastwood NSW 2122.
