Towards the finish, the chestnut character became most apparent, lingering alongside residual dairy sweetness from the white chocolate. The interplay between the creamy coating and crisp inclusions provided textural interest, while the chestnut supplied enough distinction to separate the product from a standard white chocolate confection. Even so, the chestnut profile remained somewhat restrained relative to the product’s Hōjun (“richly aromatic”) positioning. Greater chestnut intensity would have provided stronger definition and a clearer Mont Blanc identity.
Overall, a white chocolate-coated rice crisp confection with a creamy-to-roasted chestnut flavour progression and a layered crisp-to-melting textural structure, resulting in an enjoyable and recognisable chestnut snack whose flavour remains somewhat gentler than its presentation suggests.
