This Eggnog Latte is a special addition to their Christmas lineup, available only for the month of December rather than the extended holiday period starting in November. It’s ‘made with rich, steamed eggnog and [their] signature espresso’ and then topped off with a dusting of ground nutmeg.
The latte is an opaque light brown colour with a prominent aroma of nutmeg that recalled honey-baked ham. Consumed iced, there’s a very gentle sweetness at the head of each sip before notes of nutmeg came through warm and spicy in the body and develop with a prominent bitterness accentuated by the espresso in the finish. The eggnog gave the latte a richer and creamier mouthfeel, while the nutmeg lingered with a bitterness that recalled the bittersweet notes of a chinotto (with less sweetness). Consumed hot, both the sweetness associating it with honey-baked ham and the bitterness from the nutmeg are more restrained, giving the latte a rounder and more enjoyable flavour.
