This is the T2 Turkish Apple Chunky, described as a ‘twist on Turkey’s national drink traditionally brewed on the stove top to create a golden and delicious delight’.
The tisane consisted of a loose blend of apple chunks and flavouring.
Infusing 5 g in 200 mL of just-boiled water, the infusion was a clear light golden colour with the sweet aroma of cooked apples. Served hot or chilled, a bright sweetness hits the palate initially before mellowing to the flavour of cooked apples in the body with a more natural sweetness along with a hint of acidity to balance. The tisane tastes exactly as one would expect the liquid resulting from cooked apples to taste: it is familiar but not at all refreshing and lacked the punchy acidic-sweetness of actual Turkish apple tea.
