This Lupicia Melon Oolong is one of my first Lupicia branded teas from 2014 that I picked up in Melbourne, the location of their only store in Australia.

The tea is a loose leaf of melon scented oolong from Taiwan with melon-flavoured sugar crystals throughout.

Steeping 3 g of loose leaf in 200 mL of water at 85°C for 3 minutes, the infusion was a clear pale straw colour with a sweet melon nose. Served hot, the mild and unsweetened fruitiness of the oolong came through ahead of the mellow sweet melon notes in the body that recall the flesh of a ripe honeydew before a vegetal finish. A hint of melon and a mild astringency lingered in the aftertaste. This is an elegant tea that brought out the sweetness of the ripe melon without being sweet in actuality.

ThisLupicia Melon Oolong contained 50 g. The tea was sourced from Taiwan, packaged in Japan, and purchased in Melbourne, Australian in 2014.
