The moreish combination of tomato, cheese and basil in pizza sauce is difficult to resist so we were excited to spot this Ingham’s Stuffed Chicken Breast Pizza in the fridge section.
It’s essentially a chicken kiev with a more accessible name and described as ‘Australian chicken breast meat filled with a cheesy pizza sauce then coated in a delicious golden crumb’.

Each piece was around 12 cm in length and 4 cm in diameter in size and prepared by baking in a fan forced oven at 180°C for 10 minutes then at 170° for 20-25 minutes. We use an air-fryer, which cooks food at the same temperature but half the time recommended for a fan-forced oven.

Fresh from baking, each piece has a crispy crust while pizza sauce oozes from the centre. The sauce is liquid and not at all gooey like the inside of a McCain Pizza Pocket or Woolworths Calzone meaning there’s no tidy way to eat it other than to mop up the sauce with every bite of the chicken breast. The chicken breast is processed to give it its shape and tender bounce in each bite. Overall, these were enjoyable although some stretchy cheese would’ve added a moreish flavour and texture to the sauce.
This Ingham’s Stuffed Chicken Breast Pizza contained 700 g or 4 pieces. It was produced in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2019.
