This is the Toyo Suisan Maruchan Seimen Umakara Tantanmen, offering an instant interpretation of Japanese-style Sichuan ramen noodles.

The package included dehydrated noodles, a liquid soup base sachet, a powdered soup base sachet, and a flakes sachet (containing dehydrated soy meat and bok choy). Prepartiong of these noodles involved emptying the sachets onto the noodles, adding 410 mL of boiling water, and alloweing them to soak for 5 minutes.

The soup base was a rich and reasonably thick consistency, offering the pronounced nuttiness of sesame. The chilli, both in its vibrant red color and taste, contributed a generous yet manageable kick, leaving a lingering heat without overpowering the underlying flavours. The noodles, cooked to al dente perfection, provided a delightful bounce when bitten, and the soup coated each strand evenly, ensuring a consistently flavourful experience with every bite. The dehydrated soy meat impressively rehydrated to closely resemble minced pork, while the bok choy regained a delightful crunch. Overall, these noodles proved highly enjoyable, boasting an excellent flavour profile and refined texture that justified their premium quality.
