Having tried the rather ‘premium’ lasagne by Latina Fresh we try something more mid-range with this Beef Lasagne by Aldi.

It’s described as a ‘beef lasagne with bolognese sauce and topped with bechamel sauce and cheese’.

Baked without covering with foil, the lasagne is ready after baking in the oven for 35 minutes.

This Aldi lasagne delivered on taste – with a satisfying mix of tomato and beef and cheese with pasta sheets. Overall, though, the flavour was more basic than the Latina Fresh lasagne, although more complex than the home brand versions by Woolworths. While this one also contained carrots in its sauce, there is a less complex mix of herbs or textures as in the Latina Fresh. At almost half twice the price, we’d eat it again, though.
This Me’n’u Italian Beef Lasagne contained 1.2 kg. It was produced in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2017.
