Allen’s Peters Frosty Fruits

Growing up, Peters Frosty Fruits were one of my favourite ice blocks, with its crowd-pleasing tropical flavour. In April 2018, I was delighted to discover these Allen’s Frosty Fruits, a playful collaboration between Allen’s and Peters resulting in gummy lollies inspired by Peters Frosty Fruits!

Just like the ice blocks themselves, these gummy lollies come in an iceblock shape and three summer flavours (left to right): juicy Tropical, tangy Orange & Pink Grapefruit, and tasty Watermelon & Pineapple.

Juicy Tropical is a vibrant yellow colour. This is my favourite flavour of the three, just as it’s my favourite flavour of the ice blocks. While it had a nondescript fruity smell, the overwhelming flavour on tasting is true to the tropical pineapple and passionfruit flavours of the ice block itself.

Tangy Orange and Pink Grapefruit is an orange colour for the orange top and a pink-red colour for the grapefruit base. The orange is zesty before developing with bitter notes characteristic of almost all orange flavoured gummy, but it’s the refreshing sweetness from the pink grapefruit that makes this one enjoyable.

Tasty Watermelon and Pineapple is a deep red colour for the watermelon top and a vibrant yellow colour for the pineapple base. The flavours again true to the ice block, with the watermelon have the same mellow sweetness without being overly artificial, while the pineapple has a punchy sweet flavour.

These new Allen’s inspired by Peters Frosty Fruits lollies are impressive for delivering a flavour that’s true to the original ice blocks. There’s also gummy lollies inspired by Peters Drumsticks but we’re not fans of creamy gummy flavours.

This Allen’s Peters Frosty Fruits contained 140 g. It was produced in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2018.
