This is the Montoile JA Shizuoka Mikkabi Mikan Gumi, featuring gummies made with Mikkabi mikan, a premium variety of mandarin orange cultivated in Mikkabi-chō, Shizuoka Prefecture. These mandarins are prized for their distinctive flavour and high quality.

Each gummy measured approximately 2.3 cm in diameter and 0.7 cm thick, shaped like a cross-section of an orange with eight segments imprinted on the surface. The segment edges were lightly dusted with fine sugar, adding visual appeal and a touch of initial sweetness.
On tasting, the gummy presented a firm, bouncy resistance at first bite. The sugar coating provided an immediate sweetness, followed by a satisfying mochi-like chew that gradually yielded with each bite. The interior released a vibrant mandarin flavour marked by restrained acidity, giving a clean, juicy sweetness without sharpness or tingling from the citrus oils. The flavour was rounded and full-bodied, clearly reflecting the quality of the mikan used.
This was a lively and well-balanced gummy, offering both texture and depth of flavour—worthy of repurchase.
This Montoile JA Shizuoka Mikkabi Mikan Gumi contained 36 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sendai, Japan in 2024.
