Tarami Koi 0kcal Mango Jelly

This is the Tarami Koi 0kcal Mango Jelly. It used purée from Alphonso mangoes, and a blend of artificial sweeteners to achieve its claim of being zero calories.

The jelly had an almost opaque orange hue, with around ten 1.5 cm cubes of nata de coco suspended within. Its aroma was warm and sweet, reminiscent of Alphonso mangoes. Upon tasting, the jelly’s smooth texture delicately melted on the palate, unveiling the same aromatic sweetness found in Alphonso mangoes, with minimal acidity. The tropical mango flavour’s sweetness masked any lingering bitterness from the artificial sweeteners, though their presence lingered in the aftertaste. The addition of nata de coco cubes, in place of aloe as seen in the grape flavour, proved to be a significant enhancement, providing a delightful and playful elasticity that contrasted beautifully with the jelly’s softness. Despite the detectable presence of artificial sweeteners, this jelly offered an enjoyable experience in terms of both taste and texture.

This Tarami Koi 0kcal Mango Jelly contained 195 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2024.
