This Tarami White Peach Jelly is the second of two we picked up on a supermarket spree at the end of our trip to Japan in 2018. I’m always partial to white peach foods in Japan as their white peaches are known for the firmness and fresh flavour.
Two peeled segments making up a quarter of a good sized white peach fill the tub, along with white peach flavoured jelly.
The jelly was smooth, but not firm, and flavoured with the juice of fresh white peach, giving it a bright and refreshing flavour. The segments of the peach were firm with a good, firm bite that almost bordered on being crunchy. That said, the firmness meant that it was less ripe and less flavourful, so the jelly had a stronger peach flavour than the fruit. Overall, there was a thoughtful and enjoyable balance of flavours and textures in this jelly.
This tub of White Peach Jelly contained 200 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Ōsaka, Japan in 2018.
