Asahi Mintia Furano Melon

This is the Asahi Mintia Furano Melon, a mint featuring powdered juice from Furano melons produced in Hokkaidō.

The product presented as a small circular disc, measuring approximately 0.7 cm in diameter and 0.3 cm in height, with an off-white hue finely mottled with orange-yellow flecks. Aroma opened with the rich, musky sweetness of orange-fleshed melon.

Initial contact delivered immediate notes of orange-fleshed melon, beginning with mellow sweetness before developing into a juicy acidity through the mid-palate. The combination captured the natural flavour and aromatic richness of fresh melon without becoming overtly artificial. Towards the finish, a subtle cooling sensation emerged, lifting the fruit profile and leaving a clean, refreshed palate.

The balance between sweetness and juicy acidity was instrumental in maintaining an authentic fruit character despite the use of artificial sweeteners. Mouthfeel remained smooth, with the mint dissolving gradually into rounded edges without sharpness or excessive cooling.

Overall, a bright, aromatic mint with a layered melon profile and restrained cooling, delivering an unusually authentic Furano melon character through balanced sweetness and acidity.

This Asahi Mintia Furano Melon contained 7 g (50 pieces). It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2026.
