This is the The Sun and Moon ($7.50, no sugar, no ice). It’s a sun moon lake black tea with full cream milk, herbal jelly and brown sugar pearls. Consumed chilled, the tea came through with a gentle sweetness and a light mint taste that gave a fresh mouthfeel and holds its own against the full cream milk without prominent dairy notes. The handmade pearls have an enjoyable bounce without any hint of the unpleasant starchy undertones of pre-made tapioca pearls, while their brown sugar base brought just enough sweetness to the drink. The herbal jelly adds a slippery softness that gave textural interest. Overall, this is one of the most enjoyable milk teas.
