Passionfruit is my go-to when it comes to flavoured teas, with its tropical sweet/tart notes. This is Chatime Passionfruit Green Tea ($5.00 for regular, +$0.70 for pearls, and 30% sweetness).
The tea is a cloudy orange-yellow colour with a small amount of sediment from passionfruit pulp. The prominent tropical aroma of passionfruit is perhaps the strongest of all the flavours. Consumed chilled, balanced notes of sweet and tart passionfruit came through bright and fresh ahead of the slightly bitter notes of the green tea in the body and a moderately astringent finish that leaves a minimal aftertaste. The passionfruit flavour was not complex, but the occasional pulp and seeds are not bits found in other flavours and add textural interest along with the pearls.
Passionfruit Green Tea appeared on Chatime in Sydney, Australia during June 2018.
