Arnott’s ventured into the world of chocolate in mid 2019 with their range of chocolate blocks inspired by Australia’s most iconic biscuits. This Arnott’s Milk Chocolate Inspired by Scotch Finger was one we anticipated the most for its buttery crunch and aptly described as being ‘delicious milk chocolate filled with crunchy, buttery biscuit pieces’.

Generous chunks of Scotch Finger stud the base of the chocolate, yet on tasting, it’s the milk chocolate flavour that dominates. The milk chocolate has a smooth and creamy mouthfeel that immediately suggests a more expensive chocolate than that used in Cadbury Dairy Milk blocks. While the chocolate dominates, the biscuit brought an element of crumbly crunchiness although it fails to deliver on the rich buttery flavour of the Scotch Finger, and instead recalled a chocolate coated Scotch Finger with the ratios reversed. Interestingly, this chocolate bar would be an effective use of the Scotch Fingers that are discarded for not meeting quality standards for the size or shape.
