This Dr Oetker Papa Giuseppi’s Pizza Pies Hawaiian follows on from the Mega Meaty flavour.

Each box has two individually sealed pizza pies around 15 cm in diameter and 2 cm deep. This Hawaiian version is described as ‘a deep dish pizza base topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, bacon and pieces of pineapple’. We baked these pizza pies in a fan-forced oven at 180°C for 25 minutes.

The pizza pies are topped with a generous amount of ham, but lacking in the pineapple. That said, the flavour of the pizza pie was not particularly pleasant, with a notable bitterness in the background of each bite that seemed to come from the cheese or the base. Moreover, the base was thin and unsubstantial and having tried this Hawaiian flavour first, we were almost not going to try the Mega Meaty flavour but we’re glad we did as that flavour does not carry the bitterness.
