This is the Glico Ice no Mi Koi Mikan. It’s a bag of gelato balls and consisted of 80% unshū mikan juice.

Each ball, approximately 2 cm in diameter, emitted a sweet mandarin aroma. Upon tasting, the balls featured a firm icy exterior, providing structural integrity and a mellow mikan flavor. The icy exterior easily bit through, swiftly melting away to reveal the soft and creamy gelato interior, releasing vibrant notes of juicy mikan with its flavorful citrusy sweetness. While the gelato interior contained milk, presumably for creaminess, there were no detectable dairy notes. The overall flavor and texture were impeccable, offering a richness akin to the mandarin granita from Rivareno. The bite-size format was a convenient and enjoyable way to savor these refreshing and cooling balls of gelato.
This Glico Ice no Mi Koi Mikan contained 12 pieces of 84 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2024.
