This is the Glico Pretz Tomato Extra Virgin Olive Oil. It differs from the original Tomato flavour, by incorporating ripe tomatoes (16% raw equivalent) and ‘tomato vinegar’, as well as extra virgin olive oil in the cooking process.

Each package contained two bags featuring characters from the long-running anime, Detective Conan.

Each bag contained approximately 20 sticks, each measuring about 0.25 cm thick and 11.5 cm in length, dusted in a white and black seasoning that emitted a fragrant basil aroma more pronounced than the regular tomato-flavoured Pretz.

Upon tasting, the biscuit stick delivered a satisfying crunch, releasing a savoury basil flavor at the outset that evolved into a lively, tangy tomato taste mid-bite. Towards the end, the savoury tomato essence melded with the richness of the olive oil infused in the biscuit stick, resulting in a tomato flavour that was both deeper and more intricate than the original tomato-flavoured Pretz. A subtle warmth from the pepper emerged in the finish, leaving the savoury tomato flavour to linger pleasantly in the aftertaste.

Overall, the combination of olive oil and the high proportion of tomato in these Pretz made them exceptionally moreish and well worth repurchasing.

This Glico Pretz Tomato Extra Virgin Olive Oil contained 60 g. It was produced in Japan and purchased in Tōkyō, Japan in 2023.
