This is the Kasugai Gumi Da Yo Lemonade, a lemon-flavoured gummy made with apple juice concentrate and lemon fragrance.

Each piece had a yellow hue and was shaped like a miniature lemon, complete with a dimpled surface, measuring approximately 2 x 1.5 x 1.5 cm at its widest points. On tasting, the exterior gummy offered a pleasant bouncy resistance and a sweet lemon flavour clearly built on an apple juice base. This gave way to a softer, jelly-like centre with a thick, paste-like consistency and a more concentrated lemon flavour. The centre delivered a pronounced lemon aroma and notable acidity, reminiscent of the bright, aromatic intensity found in lemon lozenges, though without any artificial aftertaste or numbing qualities typically accompanying citrus oils.

The textural contrast between the firm outer gummy and squishy core enhanced the experience. The tartness of the jelly centre evoked the zesty sharpness of lemon squash, while the sweetness of the exterior prolonged the chew and closed with a flavour akin to sweet lemonade. While the flavour profile leaned toward the familiar, the interplay of textures made this a satisfying lemon gummy.
