Nissin Foods Cup Noodles Mushroom Seafood Chowder

This is the Nissin Cup Noodles Mushroom Seafood Chowder.

The noodles featured a noodle cake accompanied by toppings of dehydrated squid, vegetables (onion, parsley flakes), and mushroom.

When the package was opened, the noodles emitted a somewhat nondescript savoury aroma. Once rehydrated with boiling water up to the designated line inside the cup for 3 minutes, the soup base took on an opaque tan hue, displaying a creamy viscosity akin to a cream sauce, albeit without any overt dairy flavour due to the use of non-dairy creamer.

Upon tasting, the soup base offered a creamy mushroom flavour reminiscent of Campbell’s cream of mushroom condensed soup, complete with cubes of button mushrooms. Abundant rehydrated mushrooms were present, with a few porcini mushrooms providing a richer, earthier, and nuttier flavour along with a meatier texture. The rehydrated onions provided a subtle sweetness to the savoury mushroom flavour. However, the seafood base was subtle, much like the clam chowder flavour of these noodles. The texture of the noodles was typical of Nissin Cup Noodles—they retained their bite after rehydration but lacked the elasticity of stove-cooked noodles.

In summary, this creamy mushroom flavour provided a unique and enjoyable experience with instant noodles, making it worthy of consideration for repurchase.
