Mid-palate, a strong astringency developed, not accompanied by bitterness, but rather a sharp, drying sensation that persisted into the finish. The lemon aspect emerged at the tail end with a puckering sharpness, but this quickly gave way to a clean aftertaste, though the astringency lingered.

Overall, this lychee-flavoured lemon tea lacked balance: the lychee was underdeveloped, the sweetness excessive, and the lemon tea base lacked the clarity or zest expected of a citrus-forward beverage. The astringency, while adding structure, felt disproportionate without the support of brightness or freshness from either fruit component.
