This is the Takesawa Seicha Chasobi Hōjicha with Brown Rice and Soybeans.

The tea blend combined hōjicha with roasted brown rice and black soybeans.

Steeping a 3 g teabag in 200 mL of water at 85ºC for 2 minutes produced a clear brown infusion with a sweet, warm, roasted aroma, reminiscent of a 16-grain tea, of which these ingredients form a key component.
When consumed hot, the tea offered a smooth, toasted, and nutty profile. It opened with a gentle sweetness from the black soybeans, developed a deeper nuttiness mid-sip from the roasted brown rice, and finished with a caramel-like roasted sweetness. The infusion carried minimal bitterness and no astringency, resulting in a rounded, comforting flavour.
Overall, the tea presented a comforting, well-balanced flavour, with gentle sweetness, nutty depth, and a smooth roasted finish, making it an approachable choice for any time of day.
This Takesawa Seicha Chasobi Hōjicha with Brown Rice and Soybeans contained 30 g (3 g x 10 tea bags). It was produced in Japan and purchased in Fukushima, Japan in 2024.
