Whittaker’s Slab Hokey Pokey

Hokey pokey may be one of my favourite things out of New Zealand. It’s the Kiwi name for honeycomb toffee, but it seems to be used in smaller crumbs with a denser, hence crunchier, texture rather than the big airier blocks in Australia. This is the Whittaker’s Hokey Pokey Slab.

The bar is described as ‘a single serve slab made from 33% cocoa, 5 Roll Refined Creamy Milk chocolate with a hint of caramel and filled with the classic kiwi taste of crunchy honeycomb ‘hokey pokey’ pieces [15%]’. Unlike the other flavours that come as one ‘brick’, this one is in the shape of four (cute) mini bricks.

This chocolate bar is everything we love about the Whittaker’s Creamy Milk with added pops of crunch and sweetness from the tiny crumbs of honeycomb toffee. The milk chocolate base with its hint of caramel has an incredibly smooth and creamy texture and rich flavour, elevating this bar beyond comparison to blocks of honeycomb covered in cheap chocolate.

This Whittaker’s Hokey Pokey Slab contained 50 g. It was produced in New Zealand and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2018.
