This is the YBC Picola Setouchi Lemon, wafer sticks with a lemon-flavoured cream cheese filling made using lemons (3%) from Hiroshima Prefecture in Setouchi, Japan.

The presence of the cream cheese was evident from the aroma on opening the packaging before the zesty lemon notes came through in the background. Upon tasting, the wafer was crisp without much flavour of its own. Instead, the cream alone carried the promised lemon flavour — it was smooth and creamy with a bright, zesty lemon flavour that began sweetly before a gentle acidity followed to give the overall flavour of natural, fresh lemon. By the end of the bite, the crisp wafer melted in the mouth with the cream, mellowing the boldness of the lemon flavour and readying the palate for another biscuit stick. The cream cheese was pleasantly masked by the lemon flavour on eating, despite a persistent lingering hint in the aroma.
