This is the Nippon Yell Gummy Nara Kotoka Strawberry, made with purée from Kotoka strawberries grown in Nara Prefecture. These strawberries are known for their glossy deep red skin, sweet aroma, and rich flavour.

Each gummy was dome-shaped, measuring 2 cm in diameter and 1 cm in height, with an opaque red–pink hue and a fragrant, rich strawberry aroma. The surface was coated with a light dusting of fine sour crystals, providing a gentle crunch and initial tartness. Beneath this was a firm, bouncy gummy shell encasing a softer, jelly-like core.

On tasting, the tartness quickly yielded to a fragrant strawberry flavour, beginning with sweet aromatics before developing into a rich, juicy mid-body. The balancing acidity then receded, leaving the deep sweetness of strawberry to linger in the finish.

Overall, a vibrant and fragrant gummy that allowed the flavour of Kotoka strawberries to unfold fully across the palate, offering a more vivid expression than the Kotoka-flavoured cider.
