Da Tang Noodle specialises in qiāojiǎo niúròu tāng, a traditional beef soup from southern Sichuan, and is easily the most popular restaurant in The Concourse at Chatswood.

Spicy Beef Rice Noodle (Soup) ($18.80)
Despite the promotional image featuring broccoli and tomato, the dish arrived in a far more authentic presentation, with bok choy, seaweed strips, wood ear fungi, and intestine strips. The broth carried layered spice and flavour without being overly hot, complemented by a pleasing variety of textures. The rice noodles were slightly softer than ideal, yet the overall balance of seasoning and ingredients made for a satisfying bowl. Service was friendly and attentive.

Chinese Hamburger (Pork) ($9.80)
The bun was lighter and less doughy than that of Le Shan in Burwood, though the pork filling proved somewhat tough, with the sauce failing to permeate the meat. The pastry lacked the flakiness suggested by the promotional photo, and the expected lettuce garnish was absent.

Pork and Cabbage ($17.80 for 12 pieces)
These dumplings were savoury and well-balanced, with a thin, delicate wrapper that, while not especially crisp, maintained good structure. The filling leaned more heavily toward pork than cabbage, which suited the dish’s robust character. A side of vinegar added a clean acidity that cut through the oil and richness effectively.
Overall, the food delivered solid flavour and variety, though the promotional images did not accurately reflect the final presentation.
