This is the Lupicia Mahina, one of five Hawaii-exclusive teas released by Lupicia.

The blend featured red rooibos infused with banana and combined with sugar-coated dried mango, rose petals, and marigold.

Steeping 3 g of loose leaf in 200 mL of water at 98ºC for 4 minutes, the tea developed a clear red hue and emitted a sweet rooibos aroma with warm banana notes. When consumed hot or chilled, it had a smooth, gentle mouthfeel, with tropical hints at the start of each sip that evolved mid-sip into a slight nuttiness and mellow sweetness from the ripe banana. The rooibos added natural sweetness, while the dried mango brought its usual sweetness and a hint of tartness toward the finish, enhancing the tea’s tropical character. Overall, this red rooibos herbal tea, with its nuanced flavours of banana and mango, was refreshing and suitable for any time of day.
This Lupicia Mahina contained 50 g. The tea was sourced from India and Vietnam, packaged in Japan, and received as a gift from family visiting the United States of America in 2024.
