This is the Lupicia Amanatsu Oolong.

The tea consisted of a blend of Taiwan oolong scented with amanatsu (lit. ‘sweet summer’ in Japanese), a yellow citrus cultivar that oringated as a mutation of the natsu mikan, and sugar in the form of konpeito.

Steeping 3 g of loose leaf in 200 mL of water at 85ºC for 3 minutes resulted in a clear, light yellow infusion with a softly sweet amanatsu aroma. Consumed hot, the fresh citrus notes of amanatsu were immediately evident, with a subtle acidity buoyed by the konpeito and the sweet floral aromas of the lightly oxidised oolong. Towards the finish, the amanatsu notes became bolder as a subtle astringency from the oolong emerged. While citrus flavours can sometimes carry a hint of bitterness, this tea had an incredibly smooth and rounded mouthfeel. The delicate balance of sourness and sweetness created a refreshing tea, perfect for enjoying hot or as an iced tea. It is a tea worth repurchasing.
This Lupicia Amanatsu Oolong contained 50 g. The tea was sourced from Taiwan, packaged in Japan, and received as a gift from family visiting the USA in 2024.
