This Calbee Grill-A-Corn Corn Soup Flavour was inspired by the yaki morokoshi, or grilled sweet corn brushed with soy sauce, which is popular in Hokkaidō, Japan.

These snacks were extruded corn puffs in various thicknesses and lengths, each piece dusted in a yellow-coloured seasoning and with a rich aroma of corn potage. Upon tasting, the corn soup flavour was front and centre, with bright corn notes coming through with a gentle sweetness ahead of a more savoury soy flavour in the body, while the corn puff base provided an even richer corn flavour. Overall, these snacks were a delicious crunchy reminder of corn soup with an immensely satisfying caramelised sweet savoury flavour of grilled corn.
