Kettle Chip Company Herb & Spice left an indelible mark on the memories of my school years — back when they allowed junk food to be sold at school canteens! — so when these Kettle Chip Company Limited Edition Herb & Spice were returned in 2020 after a 20-year absence, D and I were delighted.

The chips were dusted in a bright orange-red and deep green coloured seasoning with a nostalgic aroma of herbs and spices. Upon tasting, an almost heady mix of herbs and spices came through at the head of each bite, followed by a rich, tangy roasted tomato flavour. The flavouring is very generous and distinct, but less nuanced or refined than the chip flavours of the twenty years since its last release, which tend to focus on a single herb or spice paired with another condiment or protein. I’d eat it for the nostalgia over the taste.
