This Moccona Rocky Road Romance Latte is a sachet coffee that follows on from the Turkish Delight Dream that is part of Moccona’s new coffee decadence series. This one has even less caffeine, containing just 3% instant coffee.

It’s described as ‘a luscious choc-berry, vanilla and sweet nut experience, finished off with a thick velvety froth and fluffy marshmallow minis’.

Each sachet contained a light brown powder (milk and cocoa) with a strong chocolatey and nutty aroma.

Stirring in 150 mL of hot water, the coffee was a translucent medium brown colour with a sweet and nutty aroma. Served hot, sweet notes of berry came through ahead of a pleasant nuttiness before merging with the chocolate in the body to create an overall flavour that recalled the chocolatey, fruity and nutty notes that make rocky road so delicious. The nuttiness recalled hazelnuts while the fruitiness recalled raspberry. The slightest hint of bitterness from the coffee came through in the finish before the rocky road returns to linger lightly in the aftertaste. While the flavour was spot on for rocky road, the coffee was more of a ‘hot chocolate’ than a coffee and has a very thin mouthfeel that detracts from our enjoyment.

This Moccona Rocky Road Romance Latte contained 185 g or 10x 18.5 g serves (16.5 g sachet + 2 g marshmallow). It was produced in Australia and received as a sample in Sydney, Australia in 2018.
